SUBSTANCE: invention relates to separation of fluid flow containing gas, light fluid and heavy fluid, and may be used for well products treatment. Proposed system comprises separation vessel made up of tube inclined downward. Separation chamber comprises fluid flow inlet arranged at first height, heavy fluid outlet arranged at second height, smaller than the former, light fluid outlet arranged at third height smaller than the first but larger than the second height, gas outlet arranged above fluid outlets. There is additional light fluid outlet arranged at fourth height smaller than the first height but larger than the third height. Outlet arranged at third height incorporates a control valve that opens and closes depending upon the type of fluid in tube at this level. Proposed method is implemented in above described system.
EFFECT: stable operation in fluid plug-type motion.
