FIELD: transport.

SUBSTANCE: moving stairway comprises assemblage of steps or trays, one chain (1) to drive said steps of trays, at least, one sprocket (2, 3) over which chain (1) runs partially. Note here that chain (1) on leaving sprocket (2, 3) forms upper strand (5) and lower strand (6), as well as appliances to compensate for effect of polyhedron in motion of, at least, one sprocket (2, 3). Note also that actual arm (16, 17) of chain force on, at least, one sprocket (2, 3) in upper strand (5), equals, mainly, actual arm (16', 17') of chain force on, at least, one sprocket (2, 3) in lower strand (6). In compliance with first version, with minimum actual arm (16, 16') of force on first sprocket (2) in the same strand (5, 6) actual arm (17, 17') of force on second sprocket (3) is not minimum, preferably, is differs from maximum value by 20% of difference between maximum and minimum values, in particular, is maximum. In compliance with second version, guide arc is used as second sprocket.

EFFECT: higher smoothness of chain motion.
