FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to method of producing transition methionine, particularly, from sunflower seeds. Proposed method consist in that sunflower seeds are, first, crushed in roll mill and separated to prepare them for sunflower oil to be expressed. Expeller (oil press) is used to express oil from seeds after drying them out. Obtained cake is subjected to heat-and-water treatment including heating, cooling and dampening. Prior to damping, cake is processed in hammer-type hasher.
EFFECT: production of transition (protected) methionine.
