FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a polycarbonate resin as substrate material for making transparent moulded articles. The polycarbonate resin is obtained using a continuous method on a phase boundary through phosgenation of bisphenols at temperature between 0 and 40°C with 8-17 mol % excess phosgene. The resin contains carbamate compounds of formula (I)
in which R1 and R2 denote hydrogen or C1-C12 alkyl, mainly methyl, ethyl, propyl or butyl, or R1 and R2 together denote C4-C12 alkylidene, R3 and R4 denote, C1-C12 alkyl or phenyl, or R3 and R4, bonded with a carbon atom, together form cyclohexyl or trimethylcyclohexyl.
EFFECT: invention enables to obtain polycarbonate resin with low content of carbamate compound impurities equal to 0,01-150 parts per million.
