FIELD: electricity.

SUBSTANCE: in proposed method signals of magnetic components of electromagnetic field are received at the object with two parallel dipole antennas, located in horizon at the ends of base of specified length, base is turned in horizon into position, in which maximum amplitudes of signals are received by antennas, simultaneously, amplitude of received signals is measured by each antenna, distance between centres of antennas, and time gaps are defined between three serially measured maximum values of signals amplitudes received by each antenna. Proposed device comprises antenna device, control unit, receiving-measuring unit, unit to detect distance from object to source of radiation of electromagnetic field and recorder, connected to each other in a certain manner, antenna device is arranged in the form of rigid base of specified length, at the ends of which parallel dipole antennas are fixed, and metre of distance between centres of these antennas is installed on base, base is fixed on platform stabilised in horizon with the possibility of base rotation in horizon by introduced rotation mechanism.

EFFECT: increased accuracy of distance measurement from object to source of electromagnetic field.
