FIELD: measurement technology.
SUBSTANCE: range finding locator for implementation of stereoscopic method consists of two parallel optical devices rigidly installed on the base, plane of measurements, base rotating mechanism with two axes, the units of control of base size and the distance between the plane of measurements and projection centres, systems of mapping of images on the plane of measurements, the control unit and evaluation unit, the control unit is connected to the base rotating mechanisms with two axes and devices for change the base length and distance between the planes of measurements and centres of optical devices. Meanwhile the planes of measurements are placed as matrixes on the common plane, parallel to the base, the outputs of which are connected to the evaluation unit. Two parallel matrix measuring planes are placed additionally on the same base, orthogonal to the first ones the sensing surfaces of which are facing to each other, the output of which is connected to the evaluation unit.
EFFECT: improvement of resolving ability of the object position and sizes measurements by the optical device due to the use of double pair projective coordinates system ensuring the simultaneous projection of the object position and the sizes into the functions of a tangent and cotangent of a parallactic angle.
