FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: higher accuracy of depth finding is ensured by estimating run time of beam from irradiated object to two receiving antennas spaced apart in preset direction on known base. Note here that relative error of run time measurement equals required relative range finding error. Depth is measured at irradiation point by irradiating bed by sound-range electromagnetic field, receiving reflected signal, measuring time interval between irradiation and signal reception, to allow computing depth from results obtained. Note here that irradiated field is directed to bed different points to measure time intervals at two pints located at known vertical distance in fixing them by two whatever matching distinctions, say, by signal extreme magnitudes to calculate depth. Invention covers also device to implement described method.
EFFECT: higher accuracy of depth determination.
