METHOD FOR LOCALISING NEEDLE TIP IN LUMEN OF POSTPUNCTIONAL FALSE ANEURYSM OF FEMORAL ARTERY IN THROMBIN INJECTION IN ITS CAVITY Russian patent published in 2011 - IPC A61B8/08 

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to cardiovascular surgery, and can be used for localising a needle tip in a lumen of postpunctional false aneurysm of a femoral artery in thrombin injection in its cavity. That is ensured by measuring blood pressure in a false aneurysm cavity. A monitoring valve is attached to a needle end which is used to punctuate the false aneurysm cavity. A blood pressure measurement system is connected to a side port of this valve. Another end of this system is connected to a measuring instrument. Blood pressure is measured by a direct approach. It is followed with ultrasound aided puncture of the false aneurysm. If recording blood pressure values in the false aneurysm cavity 15-20 mm Hg lower than previously measured blood pressure on an opposite leg, a needle position is considered to be correct, and thromboobliteration follows.

EFFECT: method enables high-accuracy localising needle tip topography and executing adequate obliteration, avoiding undesired consequences and complications associated with incorrect thrombin injection in the false aneurysm cavity.
