FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions refers to medicine, and can be used in treating acne vulgaris. There if offered a method of treating, avoiding a recurrence and administering a supporting therapy by regular skin applications of a therapeutically effective amount of a dermatological composition containing a therapeutically effective amount of Adapalene with using no antibacterial agents in a patient. The composition is applied in the patient for at least 16 weeks. Also, the invention involves a method of treating by oral administration of antibacterial agents combined with applications of said Adapalene composition for at least 12 weeks followed by applications of said composition for at least 16 weeks. Besides, the use of Adapalene for making the dermatological composition is offered.
EFFECT: invention allows to prevent or reduce severity of recurrent acne vulgaris for more than four months.
