FIELD: process engineering.

SUBSTANCE: proposed method may be used for temporary storage of spilling liquid hydrocarbons. On collecting spilled hydrocarbons from ground or water surface, hydrocarbon emulsions are formed that should be separated. Proposed method comprises feeding hydrocarbon emulsions into soft sleeve-like separations containers made from transparent or semi-transparent polymer resistant to hydrocarbons. Emulsion settling out and amount of separation are controlled through container transparent or semi-transparent polymer material. Emulsion settled out, lighter hydrocarbons are squeezed to sleeve ends on pressing on sleeved from above and checking squeezing process through transparent or semi-transparent material. Then, first, hydrocarbons located atop are pumped out, and, second, liquid sediment is pumped out.

EFFECT: reduced costs.
