FIELD: engines and pumps.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method consists in power conversions carried out in one cylinder divided into delivery and combustion chambers. During compression stage, fuel is fed from delivery chamber into combustion chamber, while power generated in combustion chamber is utilised to increase the pressure of pumped fuel and to maintain operation. Pump cylinder additionally incorporates the piston, not coupled with pump shaft, to divide working volume into delivery and combustion chambers. Intake and exhaust valves are fitted in cylinder cover. Fuel injector is made up of additional piston ducts that open to feed fuel from one chamber into another. To this end, retainer is arranged inside the housing to limit the travel of additional piston in compression stroke.
EFFECT: higher efficiency of pumping fuels at higher pressures.
