FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in radar stations of different types to determine the speed of the radar set carrier relative the underlying surface, as well as measuring radial speed of observed objects. The disclosed method also enables its realisation in a multifunctional radar set as one of the operating modes.

EFFECT: high accuracy of measuring speed compared to the method of measuring radial speed based on Doppler filtration for different values of accumulation time of radar signals reflected from the observed object owing to use of wideband probing signals and correlation processing of the obtained range profiles of objects.
