FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to machine building, particularly, to production of ball bearings. Ball 6 is arranged on backup blade 5 and moved by screw groove 4 of drive wheel 3 along generatrix of grinding wheel 1. Grinding wheel 1 has unloading groove 2. Ball is ground in discrete steps by interrupting contact between balls and grinding sections of wheel 1 when ball passes by the zone of screw groove 2.
EFFECT: higher surface quality at invariable efficiency due to grinding over ball entire spherical surface.
