FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to polycrystalline polyaromatic polyamide which contains A-A-B-B links, obtained from (a) dicarboxylic acids, consisting of a mixture of aromatic dicarboxylic acid and aliphatic dicarboxylic acid, and (b) diamines consisting of a mixture of a long-chain aliphatic diamine and a short-chain aliphatic diamine. Described is polycrystalline polyaromatic polyamide containing links obtained from diamines (A-A-links), which contain aliphatic diamine, and links obtained from dicarboxylic acids (B-B-links), which contain terephthalic acid, where a) the dicarboxylic acids consist of a mixture of aromatic dicarboxylic acid and aliphatic dicarboxylic acid, where: i) the aromatic dicarboxylic acid contains at least 80 mol % terephthalic of total content of the aromatic dicarboxylic acid, and ii) molar amount of the aliphatic dicarboxylic acid is at least 5 mol % of the total amount of dicarboxylic acids, b) the diamines consist of a mixture of long-chain aliphatic diamine and short-chain aliphatic diamine and where the molar amount of the short-chain aliphatic diamine is at least 10 mol % of the total amount of diamines, and c) total molar amount of the aromatic dicarboxylic acid and the long-chain aliphatic diamine is 60-90 mol % of the total molar amount of dicarboxylic acids and diamines. Described is a method of producing the said polyaromatic polyamide, involving a step for polymerisation in molten state or solution, in which dicarboxylic acids containing terephthalic acid, and diamines containing aliphatic diamine, undergo condensation to form polyamide containing A-A-links and B-B-links. The invention also describes a polymer composition which contains polyaromatic polyamide and at least one additive, use of the polyaromatic polyamide or polymer composition which contains polyaromatic polyamide and at least one additive for making moulded components, as well as a moulded component which contains polyaromatic polyamide and use of the said moulded components as automobile engine components, electrical or electronic components, or in the aerospace industry and at home.

EFFECT: high thermal stability of the polyamide processed in molten state.
