FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: method comprises stages (i) and (ii). At stage (i) a reaction mixture is obtained by liquid diamine contacting with dicarboxylic acid powder containing aromatic dicarboxylic acid and having particle size distribution measured by a method corresponding to the ISO 13320, with d10 of at least 15 microns and d90 of not more than 1000 microns, and median particle size (d50) in the range of 40-500 microns. At stage (ii) reaction of the said diamine and the said aromatic dicarboxylic acid is allowed in the said reaction mixture to form the diamine/dicarboxylic acid salt. At that, stage (i) includes the following: (a) gradual addition of liquid diamine to aromatic dicarboxylic acid powder, while maintaining dicarboxylic acid powder in a constant motion; (b) maintaining the reaction mixture in a constant motion over a period of time immediately after addition is complete. At that, (a) and (b) are carried out in a mixer with low shear at a temperature above 0°C and lower than the following temperatures: the boiling temperature of diamine and the melting point of dicarboxylic acid, diamine/dicarboxylic acid salts and any intermediate reaction product, and the reaction mixture at (a) and (b) contains no more than 5 wt % of water relative to the total weight of diamine and dicarboxylic acid. The proposed method allows to obtain diamine/dicarboxylic acid salt in the form of solid particles without using an organic solvent or a cryogenic environment.
EFFECT: invention also relates to a granular material, which is a salt of diamine, dicarboxylic acid, obtained by this method, and a method for polyamide production using this granulated material.
