SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for producing a semi-crystalline semi-aromatic copolymer polyamide. Method for producing the semicrystalline semi-aromatic copolymer polyamide (Co-PA) is that the semicrystalline semi-aromatic polyamide (A) is first prepared by direct solid-phase polymerization of terephthalic acid in an amount of 45–50 mol %, diamine in the amount of 47.5–50 mol %, and one or more components containing amine and/or acid groups in the amount of 0–5 mol %. Semi-aromatic polyamide (A) has a melting point (Tm-A) of at least 310 °C. Next, polyamide (B), which is an amorphous polyamide having a glass transition temperature (Tg-B) lower than the value of Tm-A, or semi-crystalline polyamide having a melting point (Tm-B) lower than the value of Tm-A, or a combination of the said amorphous polyamide and the said semicrystalline polyamide, is obtained. Next, polyamide (A) and polyamide (B) are heated and mixed to form a polymer melt that has a temperature (T-melt) greater than the value of Tm-A. Melt is then cooled to a temperature lower than the solidification temperature of the melt to form a solid copolymer polyamide.
EFFECT: invention allows using an optimized method to produce semi-crystalline semi-aromatic copolymer polyamide having a melting point of at least 300 °C and having high mechanical properties.
