FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to welding, particularly, to pressure welding of workpieces from titanium allows. Proposed method comprises arranging interlayer from titanium alloy with grain size smaller than 5 mcm between workpieces and jointing them together by applying pressure thereto. Jointing workpieces and interlayer is performed in two stages. During first stage, pressure is applied at temperature below that of second stage and approximating to lower limit of temperature range corresponding to conditions of super plasticity in deformation and sufficient for making physical contact between jointing surfaces of workpieces and interlayer. Second stage is performed at temperature and in time required for development of volumetric interaction.
EFFECT: expanded process performances, higher quality of welded joint, lower labor input.
