FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to devices intended for cleaning water of impurities by freezing, and may be used for sea water desalination. Proposed device comprises, at least, two chambers for water freezing and its defrosting made up of vertical hollow cylindrical tanks (1) and (2) arranged in heatproof cases (3) and (4), while freezing and defrosting device represents a Ranque-Hilsch vortex tube (5) generating hot and cold airflows intermittently fed into cases (3) and (4) of cylindrical tanks (1) and (2). Note here that each said tank is provided with pipeline (6) of treated water, pipeline (7) to discharge water with impurities and pipeline to drain purified melt water, all pipelines being equipped with controlled shut-off valves.
EFFECT: increased efficiency of cleaning.
