FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to phase change materials (PCMs) which can transform upon absorbing heat from solid or semisolid phase to liquid phase and from liquid phase back to solid phase when releasing the same amount of heat. Depending on their phase transition temperature, the materials can be used as heat-accumulating materials. The invention describes a method of preparing a polymer composition which contains heat-accumulating phase change material which is a salt hydrate in which at least one monomer, which is a vinyl compound, is polymerised in the presence of heat-accumulating material, where polymerisation takes place in an almost anhydrous polar medium and heat-accumulating phase change material is in molten state and the heat-accumulating product in which the polymer composition is used is obtained using the said method.
EFFECT: obtaining a composition which can be easily heated and mechanically processed without changing its structure and composition and without loss of phase change material, having several applications.
