FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: 0.5-2.0 mm thick sodium nitrate layer from a homogenous paste is deposited onto an article. Drying is then carried out for 0.8-1.0 hours at 80-100°C and thermal treatment is carried out at 380-420°C for 0.75-1.0 hours, followed by cooling. The ion-exchange reinforcement process is carried out 1-2 times.

EFFECT: high quality of the obtained articles due to reduction of defects and labour input in the reinforcement process.
