FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to produce nanostructures based on montmorillonite clay or organic monomers. Montmorillonite clay is levigated. An aqueous suspension is prepared and acrylate- or methacrylate guanidine and ammonium persulphate is added. The suspension is blown with nitrogen, stirred at room temperature for 2.5-3 hours and polymerisation is carried out in a nitrogen atmosphere at temperature 60-65 °C for 20-30 minutes. The product is separated from the mother solution, held for 1 hour at temperature 60°C in distilled water in order to separate the polymer which has not entered the interlayer gallery, washed and dried. The weight ratio water: montmorillonite clay: acrylate- or methacrylate guanidine is equal to (1:0.9:0.1) - (1:0.1:0.9). The weight ratio acrylate- or methacrylate guanidine: ammonium persulphate is equal to 1:0.001.

EFFECT: invention enables direct replacement of exchange cations Ca+2, Mg+2 etc in external and internal (interlayer galleries) of basal planes of montmorillonite clay on biocidal water-soluble cationotropic monomer quaternary imine derivative salts of acrylate/methacrylate guanidine and carry out monomer polymerisation in situ.
