SUBSTANCE: radio frequency coil for resonance magnetic visualisation comprises coil active element (70, 701, 170, 270) that sets volume of visualisation. Coil active element has first open end (74) with first cross section. Coil shielding element (72, 721, 722, 723, 724, 725, 172, 1722, 272), in fact, surrounds coil active element. Coil shielding element has taper open end (88) arranged nearby coil active element first open end with tapered cross section (dconst) smaller than that (dshield) of coil shielding element. In some version, proposed coil comprises external shielding element (100), notably larger than shielding element (72, 721, 722, 723, 724, 725, 172, 1722, 272), to surround active element, and coil shielding element.
EFFECT: higher efficiency due to reduced losses in radio frequency transmission.
