FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, particularly thoracic surgery. It involves transverse osteotomy of a proximal preserved rib located below a costal defect. A segment of a vertebral part of the rib is lifted in the costal defect and fastened with a K-wire to a sternal fragment of the costal defect.
EFFECT: method provides avoiding paradoxical respiration, replacing the costal defect of the chest wall and preventing the organs from going beyond.
