FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: proposed polygonal plate has top surface, bottom surface, multiple side surfaces jointing top surface to bottom surface, and central opening made at its center. For efficient removal of chips, surface top has flat bearing surface. Multiple sections of lateral cutting edge are formed at boundary between top surface and side surfaces. Section of angular cutting edge is made on boundary between two adjacent section of lateral cutting edge. Note also that angular cutting edge section has cutting edge formed on its front part while chamfer, first ledge, surface inclined downward and bearing surface are formed on angular cutting edge section along diagonal line directed from cutting edge to central opening. Mind that pair of second ledges is made and located in symmetry on both sides of diagonal line so that angular bottom surface is surrounded by surface inclined downward. Note here that angular bottom surface features least height while bearing surface features maximum height along diagonal line.
EFFECT: higher efficiency of cutting.
