FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of continuous mineral fibres from crystallisable rocks in small gas-electric furnaces and can be used in chemical industry, as well as in the industry of construction materials. The method of producing continuous fibres from crystallisable rocks with total content of refractory elements SiO2, TiO2, Al2O3, MgO and MnO over 70% in a small gas-electric furnace involves loading raw material into the working zone of electrodes, melting, homogenising the molten mass, feeding the molten mass into a moulding device and moulding fibres. Homogenisation of the molten mass, feeding the molten mass into the moulding device and moulding the fibres is carried out at temperature lower than the crystallisation upper limit, where the raw material must have particle size of 40-90 mm and should be loaded at 15-60 minute intervals. Loading is carried out in the working zone of electrodes at a distance of not less than 50 mm from the far boundary of the working zone of the electrodes, where the area of the working zone of the electrodes is not less than 10% of the mirror of the molten mass in the furnace. The loading interval is visually determined from the time the borders of the granules of the material in the working zone of the electrodes disappear.

EFFECT: high level of readiness of molten rocks to moulding, as well as low power consumption.
