SUBSTANCE: invention relates to equipment used in hairdresser's salons, in particular, to hair dryers. The invention objective is to develop a device, which would make it possible to treat hair with the help of ultraviolet waves. A halogen hair dryer comprises a heating element arranged around a support made of two crossing plates. The specified plates have grooves arranged on external ribs to locate a heating resistor in the form of a spiral. At the same time the support is made of a fire-resistant dielectric, and plates cross at the right angle, forming spaces between each other. In one of pairs of opposite spaces there is a U-shaped halogen tube arranged, having a coal filament, besides, the tube is arranged so that it is installed inside a resistor in the form of a spiral arranged on a support, and its branches pass in parallel to the central axis of the support.

EFFECT: development of a device, having a simple design, and also comprising a gas-filled tube with a coal filament, which serves as a heater.
