FIELD: transport.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to railway safety, control and diagnostics ACS and serves to detect fractures in whatever rails and train exact position in whatever railroad zone. Proposed method comprises the following stages: measuring the second set of current indicative magnitudes, each corresponding to one of multiple railroad zones, and comparing the difference between second set of said magnitudes and first set of magnitudes incorporating preset threshold to detect railway vehicle on railway section. Proposed system comprises: at least, one control device to receive input signals from assemblage of current transducers and to control variations between said first and second sets of magnitudes to detect rail fracture in aforesaid railway section. Note here that said control device can additionally change polarity of each voltage source.
EFFECT: higher safety of shunting and regular service on high-speed sections and higher accuracy of locating locomotive position.
