SUBSTANCE: invention relates to fish industry. Method and device that implements it include stepwise reduction of temperature in water with animals. The water temperature is maintained for a specified period of time at each stage of temperature reduction. The period of time maintained for each stage of temperature reduction gradually increases to the moment, when variances in oxygen consumption of marine animals reduce significantly or become almost zero. Starting from this moment, the period of continuous maintenance of the required temperature in marine water at each stage gradually reduces.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to ensure high level of marine animals survival rate during transportation.
