METHOD OF SURGICAL TREATMENT OF DORSUM OF NOSE SADDLE DEFORMITY Russian patent published in 2011 - IPC A61B17/24 

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to field of medicine, namely to otorhinolaryngology and can be used in surgical treatment of saddle deformity of dorsum of nose. Essence of method lies in formation of canal in soft tissues of dorsum of external nose, introduction of transplant and its fixation in specified position. Preliminarily, semi-penetrating cut of mucous membrane in vestibule of nose on the left is made, through which quadrangular cartilage is exposed along its entire length in premaxillary part. Transeptal cut in anterior part of quadrangular cartilage is made, with its separation from pericondrium on the right and 10-12 mm wide resection is performed in premaxillary part on the entire length of cartilage. After that, through cut of nose mucous membrane canal is formed in projection of dorsum of nose to nose bridge. Resected quadrangular cartilage is crushed into fragments which have 0.7-1.2 mm size, which are laid, wrapped into Surgicel, with area 30×50 mm, soaked with venous autoblood. Obtained transplant is placed into canal in dorsum of nose projection, edges of wound of nasal cavity mucous membrane are sewn with catgut sutures, on external nose surface applied is plaster bandage, which is removed in 5-10 days. Antibiotic therapy is carried out in post-operational period.

EFFECT: application of claimed invention makes it possible to reduce operation time, achieve maximal esthetic result, exclude risk of transplant resorption and recurrence of external nose dorsum deformity.
