METHOD OF PRODUCING ULTRAFINE OCTOGENE Russian patent published in 2011 - IPC C06B21/00

Abstract RU 2420501 C1

FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: in the method, octogene is dissolved in an organic solvent - dimethyl sulphoxide or dimethyl formamide or e-caprolactan at temperature from 50°C to 100°C, after which the solution is dosed for 1-5 minutes, while stirring, into a prepared water/toluene emulsion at temperature not higher than 6°C and weight ratio of solution/emulsion equal to 1/1.5-3, such that temperature does not rise above 30°C, after which the product is filtered from the mother solution. The obtained product is transferred to an apparatus with a mixer in which there is free water/toluene emulsion and then stirred for 15-30 minutes and then filtered once more. The filtrate is washed with alcohol and then with petroleum ether. The washed product is taken for drying. The optimum ratio of the water/toluene emulsion is equal to 1/1-4. The end product is preferably washed with isopropyl alcohol. The preferred petroleum ether has boiling point not higher than 70°C.

EFFECT: obtaining ultrafine octogene using a simple and cheap method, where said ultrafine octogene is suitable for use in military equipment, mining industry and construction.
