FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: method of detecting coordinates of local damages involves applying an insulating layer on the structure, onto which a multi-section resistive current-conducting layer is applied. A protective layer is then applied. If cross cracks form in the structure, electrical resistance of the resistive current-conducting layer changes and becomes equal to rapture resistance. Coordinates of local damages in the structure are determined from the measured value. Disclosed also is a device which realises the said method.
EFFECT: high accuracy of determining coordinates of local damages in structures.
