SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to antirust protection and is intended for diagnostics of latent corrosive defect and monitoring state of metal structures. Method of diagnosing latent corrosion defect under coating and applied on metal surface of electrochemically active composite material for forming layer of material and at least one layer of hydro-isolating current-conducting material.

EFFECT: prevention or abrupt reduction of under film corrosion of protected metal structure, in particular underground pipeline, and thus increasing reliability of antirust protection of metal structures, which are under cathodic protection.
