METHOD OF PROSTHETIC PLASTY OF MEDIAN VENTRAL HERNIAS WITH RECONSTRUCTION OF SERGENT'S WHITE LINE Russian patent published in 2011 - IPC A61B17/00 

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to surgery and hernioventroplasty and can be used for plasty of median initial, recurrent and post-operative hernias of abdomen of middle and large size. Hernial sac is exposed and anterior walls of sheaths of recti muscles of abdomen are prepared. When manipulations with hernial sac are finished, dissection of anterior leaves of sheaths of abdominal recti muscles is performed along entire length of defect symmetrically on the right and on the left, indenting from internal edge of rectus muscle not less than 2.5-3 cm. From xenopericardial plate 3 cm wide flap with length equal to length of hernial defect is cut out. From mesh endoprosthesis two flaps are cut out for covering defects which form above abdominal recti muscles after dissection of anterior leaves of sheaths of abdominal recti muscles, equal in width exposed recti muscles and in length equal length of hernial defect. Plasty starts from upper edge of hernial defect, gripping into suture edge of mesh endoprosthesis, edge of internal leaf of dissected anterior wall of sheath of abdominal rectus muscle and edge of xenopericardial plate by turns from the right and left sides of hernial defect. Fixation of loose edge of mesh endoprosthesis to external edge of dissected anterior wall of sheath of abdominal rectus muscle is performed by single interrupted sutures on the right and on the left.

EFFECT: method makes it possible to ensure reliable strengthening of anterior abdominal wall without reducing abdominal cavity volume, as well as form Sergent's white line on median abdomen line.
