FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to ophthalmology, namely to ophthalmo-oncology, and aims at removal of an iris pupil tumour. It involves a self-sealing tunnel cut 3-5 mm long from an opposite side from the tumour and an additional auxiliary paracentesis. The tumour is excised through the tunnel cut, a spatula is delivered behind it, and a tunnel cut opening is increased immediately; then a pressurised viscoelastic is introduced through the paracentesis, and the tumour is washed out through the tunnel cut. If the length of the tunnel cut exceeds 4 mm, 1 interrupted suture is applied.
EFFECT: method allows reducing injures of a cornea, tissues of an anterior segment, relieving postoperative corneal astigmatism, ensuring higher accuracy of surgical manipulations due to better visual control, and creating an approach more convenient for a surgeon, and also reaching early rehabilitation of the patients with better functional outcomes.
