FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: electromagnetic oscillations on three natural frequencies are excited in a resonator placed in a reservoir. These frequencies are measured in the entire range for measuring the degree of filling the reservoir with liquefied gas. Said three natural frequencies are selected such that the values of at least two frequencies normalised to corresponding frequencies of the resonator when the entire reservoir is filled with a gas phase do not coincide for any degree of filling the resonator with liquefied gas in a double-phase state, and inverse values of the ratio of the difference in squares of inverse values of normalised frequencies of that pair of frequencies to the same difference, created by one of the said frequencies and the third frequency, make up uniform dependence from the degree of filling. The mass of liquefied gas is determined from the three measured natural frequencies of the resonator.
EFFECT: simplification, higher accuracy of the system for measuring mass of liquefied gas in a closed reservoir.
