FIELD: measuring equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the measuring equipment and can be used for the substance (liquid, granular substance) in container level high-precision measurement. In particular, it can be used for the petroleum products, liquefied gases, etc., level measurement. Technical result is achieved by the fact that in the proposed substance in the container level measuring method, whereby a volume resonator, in particular a waveguide resonator, is placed vertically in a container, in which the substance level is equal to its level in a container, exciting the electromagnetic oscillations in the volume resonator and measuring their resonant frequency; in the resonator cavity placing a substance with at least one frequency-dependent electrophysical parameter, which frequency range of change is chosen within the resonator resonance frequency range of change, which takes place during the resonator cavity filling with the controlled substance, additionally changing the container volume as a function of the substance level when the container walls are made compressible or stretchable over at least part of the container length.
EFFECT: technical result of the present invention is increase in functionality, including increase in the sensitivity and accuracy of the substance level measuring, the measurement process simplification.
