FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to field of medicine, namely, to pathologic anatomy. For morphological diagnostics of ventriculomegalia in fetuses and newborn babies of 22-27 weeks of gestation width of lateral brain ventricles is measured. After that histostereometry of germinative matrix and neocortex in area of caudate nucleus head is performed. If width of anterior horns does not exceed 5 mm and ratio of germinative matrix width to neocortex width equals 1:2, ventriculometria is diagnosed. Method is highly informative and simple in application, does not require special training of physician-pathologist.
EFFECT: method makes it possible to diagnose ventriculometria in fetuses and newborn babies of 22-27 weeks of gestation with minimal time consumption (within 8-10 minutes) at organ and tissue levels.
