FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: histostereometry and measurement of the germinal matrix and neocortex widths within a head of caudate nucleus are applied in foetuses and newborns of 22-27 weeks of gestation. If the germinal matrix to neocortex widths ratio is equal to 1:2, ventriculometry is diagnosed, while the ratio 2:1 enables to diagnose hydrocephaly.
EFFECT: method allows controlling the accuracy of the lifetime diagnostics, evaluating the adequacy of a conducted therapy and an obstetric management of abortion and prolongation.
