FIELD: life saving equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to emergency evacuation units, mainly for people descend from the buildings with a mechanical brake assembly. The life-saving appliance comprises a safety rope (1) and a fixation assembly with a friction brake mechanism and a coil whereon a reserve safety rope is wound. The fixation assembly is represented by a lap belt (2) fixed on a user's body. The lap belt has fixed coil (4) and brake mechanism in the form of a friction brake drum (7) whereon the rope (1) is wound. The coil axis is parallel, while the drum axis is perpendicular to a winding direction. A free end of the rope is passed through an additional brake mechanism, attached to its body (9) and forms a loop whereon a reversible block (10) is mounted.
EFFECT: invention allows higher reliability of the appliance.
