FIELD: life saving equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to emergency evacuation units, mainly for people descend from the buildings, with a mechanical brake assembly. The individual evacuation unit comprises a body with an in-built reel whereon a safety rod and latch hook are wound around. A free end of the rod through the brake assembly and outlet rollers is brought out from the body. The brake assembly represents a manual friction block perpendicular to a reel axis. A rod end is passed through the latch hook and wound around a supplementary reel integrated in the body. A length of a portion of the rod wound around the first reel is equal to that of a portion of the rod wound around the second one. Driving both reels is synchronised by means of two gear wheel rigidly connected with the reels, and an idle gear located in between. The rod is taken aside from each reel by means of a guide roller. The guide roller is arranged at level of the middle of the reel and fixed in the body on a dead axis perpendicular to the reel axis.
EFFECT: invention allows higher extreme evacuation safety.
