FIELD: life saving equipment.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to emergency evacuation units, mainly for people descend from the buildings with a mechanical brake assembly. The emergency evacuation unit comprises a body with an in-built reel. A safety rod is reeled around the reel. Its free end through the brake assembly and an output bushing is brought out from the body and supplied with a latch hook. The brake assembly represents three fixed rollers and a pivot plate with their axes fixed in the body. The safety rod is thrown over the two fixed rollers, while the third guide fixed roller is placed in front of the rod output from the body. The brake assembly comprises a pressure movable roller. Its axis is fixed on the pivot plate to ensure varied force action of the pressure roller on the fixed roller being first in relation to the reel and respectively on the safety rod when the plate rotates. The plate has a flange transcending the body. A pressing mechanism is attached to said flange.

EFFECT: invention allows higher extreme evacuation safety and speed.
