FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy. Melt is dispersed via casting vessel nozzles into chamber with inert cooling medium wherefrom 85% to 95% of melt overheat heat are picked up. Then, dispersed melt is fed into crystalliser for billet to be produced by reduction and deformation in conditions of three-dimensional crystallisation. Billet is formed in crystalliser made up of first pair of vertical walls and second pair of walls with inclined top sections and vertical bottom sections. Note here that first pair of walls reciprocates while second pair of walls revolves. Melt temperature, inert medium temperature and flow rate are controlled by means of pickups.
EFFECT: high-quality billets with compacted structure, reduced consumption of materials, power and time.
