FIELD: continuous casting processes and equipment. SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of feeding melt metal into vertical mold with two pairs of walls arranged one opposite to another and having working cavity enlarged in upper portion; forming skin with deformation of it and pulling billet out of mold. Walls of mold are driven to motion and two melts are cast successively into mold. First melt has crystallization temperature lower than that of second melt. First melt is cast into non-cooled mold during time period necessary for achieving designed temperature of working surface of walls at stable operation mode of mold with second alloy and with energized system for cooling walls. Mold has two pairs of working walls with water cooled ducts; said walls restrict working cavity enlarged upwards by angle equal to 10 degrees relative to vertical plane due to one pair of working walls. Two walls forming enlarged cavity may perform rotation, two other walls may perform reciprocation motion. Apparatus includes two casting vessels arranged one over another and provided with stoppers. Stopper of lower casting vessel has through opening for melt passing from upper vessel. EFFECT: less loss of yield, enhanced efficiency of process, high quality of surface and inner structure of billets at reliable operation of apparatus. 2 cl, 2 dwg
