METHOD OF REDUCING WATER TEMPORARY HARDNESS IN FLOW AND CAVITATION REACTOR TO THIS END Russian patent published in 2011 - IPC C02F1/36

Abstract RU 2422371 C2

FIELD: process engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to reduction of water temporary hardness and may be used in heat exchangers and boilers. Proposed method comprises brings effects of cavitation pressure pulses amplified by nonparametric effects on water. Said cavitation is initiated in processed volume by ultrasound standing waves generated by sending equal-frequency flexible oscillations transmitted into water from several oscillation sources. Oscillation phases are set equal. Total pressure pulses at geometrical center of processed water volume are amplified by spatial arrangement of waves relative to said center at preset distances. Reactor comprises even number of equal-size axially-symmetric round acoustic cells arranged in line on axis that crosses said geometrical center. Said cells generate flexible equal-phase-and-frequency oscillations of processed water. Diameters of surfaces generating said oscillations do not exceed wavelength in water in oscillation frequency. Points of intersection of wave beams on both sides of reactor inner volume center are located at certain distances from said center.

EFFECT: higher efficiency of sonochemical water softening without agents.
