FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: there are emitted ultrasonic oscillations downstream and upstream of measured medium flow during process of measurement by means of reversible electro-acoustic transducers (2, 3) located on opposite generatrices of measuring section of pipeline and set off relative to each other along its axis at distance from 2 to 10 D, where D is diameter of measuring section. Acoustic impenetrable partition (15) with an orifice in centre between the transducers and of length exceeding distance between the transducers is installed along axis of the measuring section. In cross section of the pipeline axes of directional diagrams of the electro-acoustic transducers are perpendicular to axis (6) of the pipeline and to surface of partition (15). Emitting surface of each electro-acoustic transducer is matched with internal surface of the pipeline or with corresponding opposite surface of the partition. Oscillations passed through medium are converted into electric signals and in unit (1) there are analysed both electric signals from ultrasonic pulses passed through the orifice in the partition directly from the transducer to transducer and electric signals from ultrasonic pulses reflected from the partition and internal surface of the pipeline. According to the version of implementation reflecting grooves of oval shape are arranged on surface of the partition.
EFFECT: upgraded accuracy of measurement in wide dynamic range of flow rates.
