FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: method of accelerating positively charged particles and ions involves use of second-class conductors in pulsed induction accelerators as conducting working walls and placing or forming a plasma column at axes thereof. The hollow pulsed inductive accelerator has a cavity formed by two coaxial walls 2 made from insulating material, for example glass. The walls 2 are spaced apart on the radius and are sealed at the ends by metallic flange washers 3 and 4. The cavity between the walls 2 is filled with a second-class conductor 1 used as the working conducting element. The flange washers are connected in series with the second-class conductor 1 to a circuit 5 with a pulsed current generator 6.
EFFECT: invention increases compactness and simplifies design of the accelerator.
