FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to chemistry and may be used for cleaning gas and fluid of sulfur compounds. Reagent is obtained in interaction between 37%-water solution of formaldehyde and 98%-monoethanol in ratio of 70-72%-to-28-30%. Addition of water solution of formaldehyde to solution of monoethanol is made gradually for 1 hour at the rate of 0.5-0.6 % of water solution of formaldehyde with intensive mixing of reaction mass. Note here that initial temperature of water solution of formaldehyde makes 18-20°C. Reaction temperature may not exceed 80°C.
EFFECT: efficient, stable target product, simplified and cheap method.
