FIELD: transport.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to elevators. Method of controlling elevator system with set of cabins comprises defining availability of, at least, one section between initial and final assigned floor wherein approach on cabins is performed at rated speed. Distance between cabins is increased in, at least, one said section, by varying travel time for, at least, one cabin and controlling operation of, at least, one cabin door. Time interval required for increasing distance between cabins is divided into group of short intervals to use one of them at each stop of, at least, one cabin in said section. Elevator system as per proposed method comprises elevator shaft, set of cabins arranged in said shaft, each provided with, at least, one door, and controller. Said controller may define aforesaid said required time interval, dividing it in short intervals to use one of them at each stop of, at least, one cabin in said section.
EFFECT: preventing excessive approach of cabins at stops.
