FIELD: power engineering.
SUBSTANCE: catalytic reactor or a heat exchanger comprises a monolith formed with a high number of thin sheets, at the same time the monolith has in general the circular cross section. The monolith is installed inside of an outer pipe, which is in general cylindrical, and covers a corrugated inner pipe. The reactor is equipped with facilities to act at the monolith in the radial direction outside in order to maintain contact between the monolith and the outer pipe. Such facilities may include a conical ring, or a bent shield, which is arranged as a whole with the inner pipe.
EFFECT: reactor compensates for metal fluidity and ensures practically continuous contact between the monolith and the outer pipe.
