FIELD: transport engineering; exhaust systems of internal combustion engines. SUBSTANCE: proposed catalyst converter designed for cleaning exhaust gases with high content of hydrocarbons consists of tubular housing accommodating layers of metal foil at least partially covered by catalytically active material. Foil layers are arranged close to inner surface of tubular housing. There are no layers of metal foil with catalytically active material on larger part of cross-section of tubular housing. Layers of metal foil, at least on separate sections, can be structurized: corrugated and/or perforated. Invention provides description of scheme of arrangement of catalyst converters consisting of two devices arranged in series in direction of exhaust gas flow.
